Abstract:The Red Bull Soapbox Race is a DIY soapbox derby in the city initiated by Red Bull in 2000. Because the tracks of the entire
competition are mostly selected in the city streets, the activities are based on the urban street space. This article focuses on the
street elements as the racetrack in the competition from the perspective of urban design, and shows the three types, the streets
as the racetrack, the streets as the racetrack and the gathering spaces, and the blockss where the racetrack is activated, in the
different races.
