Abstract：Innovation district is a spatial form formed by the agglomeration of science and technology enterprises in urban built-up areas, which has become an important platform for urban innovation and development. Zhongguancun West District is a typical innovation district in China. This paper analyzes the existing problems in the construction of innovation district in Zhongguancun West District, and proposes the practical needs in the place-making of the innovation district in Zhongguancun West District through the generalization of international cases and in-depth interviews with workers in science and technology enterprises. This paper summarizes the current progress of the renewal of Zhongguancun West District, combined with the demand for the construction of innovative districts, and looks into the future development of the innovative district.
