Abstract：Under the background of stock-based era, facing the increasingly complex and diversified demand in urban
regeneration, the research focus and practice object of urban design in China have changed significantly. The teaching
of urban design courses of the architecture major in Chongqing University has undergone major reforms in the course
structure and teaching methods. The specialized courses closely related to urban morphology, such as Residential
Architecture Design, Site Design, and High-rise Building design, have been deeply integrated with Urban Design
Theories and Methods, Urban Design and other courses, forming a problem-oriented urban design research course
group covering the medium and micro levels, and highlighting the concept of student-centered course construction.
