Abstract：Through analyzing the three stages of evolution for the planning and design of the Xi ‘an Academy of Fine Arts, Chang
‘an Campus, we discuss the positive role that localization, vernacularity, and cultural influence plays in the creation
of an artistically and culturally rich campus design. We also analyze a case study in practice to emphasize the role of
strategic factors in the process of planning and construction.
