Abstract：Industrial heritage has many values, such as historical, cultural, scientific and technological. As a mark of urbanization,
it has unneglectable social impact on regional spatial identity and emotional identity. At present, urban renewal is
moving towards stock optimization and fine design, so it is of great significance to protect and regenerate industrial
heritage spaces. Taking history as a clue, the event space theory connects spatial organization and forms a spatial
system, which can effectively enhance the spatial integrity and identity of an area, but its applications in urban
renewal in China is still in its infancy. Taking the industrial heritage renewal design of Wuhan’s Simeitang District as
an example, this paper analyzes the coupling between industrial heritage spaces and the event space theory, explores
different aspects such as narrative elements sorting, function transformation, and spatial translation, and puts forward
the event spatial structure construction method and the innovation strategy of memory space rejuvenation, in order to
provide references for the application path of the event space theory in the industrial heritage spatial renewal.
