Abstract:This thesis introduces Nikken Sekkei’s engagement in typical Transit Oriented Development (TOD) initiatives in
Japan and China, and discusses the significance of integrating railway station redevelopment and urban renewal. In the
Huangmugang Hub project (Shenzhen), experiences from the Shibuya Station redevelopment project are applied to
establish a mechanism for urban renewal driven by the reconstruction of municipal facilities, which subsequently leads
to the transformation of surrounding neighborhoods through collaborative efforts. Additionally, the thesis analyzes
adaptive planning adjustments, and provides a prospective outlook on the project’s future development.
