Abstract:The demolition and redevelopment project of Building 114 in Jinsong District 1, Chaoyang District, is a key urban
regeneration project aimed at resolving a number of occupancy problems and safety hazards in an old and dangerous
building built in 1978. The original building suffered from poor thermal and acoustic insulation and a poor living
environment, and was rated as a Class D dangerous building. As a pilot project for the reconstruction of dilapidated
buildings in Beijing, the project adopted an innovative “four-party sharing” model, which effectively solved the
problem of fund-raising, while significantly improving the safety and quality of life of the residents, and provided a
replicable implementation path for the reconstruction of similar dilapidated buildings.
