Abstract:The overall conservation project for the former site of the Mengzang School in Xicheng District is aimed at restoring
and revitalizing this historically and culturally significant site. Located at the heart of the Xidan commercial district,
the site originally served as the residence for Beizi during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, as well as a Right Wing Clan
School, before becoming the campus for the National Mongolian and Tibetan School during the Republican period.
Through restoration and environmental enhancements, not only has the site regained its historical ambiance, but it has
also become a new hotspot in Xidan by hosting exhibitions and cultural experience events, injecting fresh vitality into
the area. The project employs traditional restoration techniques combined with modern concepts to fully protect and
revitalize cultural relics, showcasing rich historical culture while promoting the spirit of ethnic integration.
