Abstract:The Liangma River International Waterfront Project in Chaoyang District, Beijing, is an urban renewal initiative
aimed at enhancing the quality of urban public spaces and stimulating regional economic growth. By leveraging the
rich historical and cultural heritage of the Liangma River, the project has effectively improved the river environment
through measures such as desilting, dredging, sewage treatment, and shoreline enhancement, fostering a harmonious
coexistence between ecology and the city. Innovative approaches emphasizing party-building leadership, peopleoriented
principles, strategic planning, and ecological priority offer new perspectives for urban governance, leading to
the river’s rejuvenation, urban renewal, and an enhanced quality of life for residents.
