Abstract:This article focuses on the urban renaissance concept and practice around the Shenyang Imperial Palace and its
imperial city under the guidance of human settlement science, aiming to explore an urban design strategy that integrates
traditional protection with modern vitality, systematic improvement, and organic renewal. Through in-depth analysis
of the four major concepts of active protection, overall creation, organic renewal, and comprehensive renaissance,
the inheritance and revitalization of urban cultural heritage are achieved from four levels: inheriting cultural heritage,
promoting connectivity and flow, converging industries for urban prosperity, and updating and building resilience.
At the same time, the research introduces digital twin technology as a scientific support platform in multidimensional
scenarios, which covers multiple aspects such as planning and design approval, urban smart governance, and cultural
heritage protection, providing intelligent application demonstrations for high-quality development. Finally, based on
the action plans of renaissance plan, chief architect accompanying, and orderly implementation, this paper discusses
how urban design drives the renaissance practice of the imperial city, providing valuable experience and models for the
revitalization of Northeast China and other urban renewal projects.
