A Case Study on Organic Renewal of Shenyang Dongmaoku Historic Buildings

Abstract：As an important industrial city in modern times, Shenyang has rich industrial culture accumulation and industrial
heritage resources. Taking the analysis of the value of Shenyang’s industrial heritage as the breakthrough point and the
organic renewal of the historic buildings of Dongmaoku as the main example, this paper systematically analyzes the
planning and implementation path of urban renewal led by the protective regeneration of heritage in this area, especially
the idea of planning and operation frontloading, which provides reference for the organic integration between protective
regeneration of industrial heritage and urban renewal.
