Abstract:Riverside areas have always been an essential part of urban development. Due to their ecological sensitivity and
significant remaining issues from traditional industries, they urgently require new planning and design to unleash their
ecological landscape value and diverse spatial potential. This study is based on a profound analysis of various elements
in riverside areas. It establishes a multidimensional value system and technical framework centered around ecological
elements, function and industry elements, and spatial form elements. By integrating multi-source big data and on-site
exploration, the study focuses on the Nanjing Jinling Shipyard District and proposes a renewal strategy of mountainriver-
city integration. The aim is to integrate the relationships among various elements to achieve the vision of a
symbiotic relationship of mountain, river, and city.
