Method of “Light Intervention”:
A Case Study of the Ruins Renovation on Isola di Dino, Italy
Abstract：This paper focuses on the observation of contemporary site renewal practices in Europe and China, synthesizing a “light
intervention” design methodology that emphasizes activating a site’s potential through minimal intervention. Taking the
ruins of Isola di Dino in Italy as a case study, it explores renovation approaches grounded in this design methodology.
By drawing upon the site’s unique characteristics, it proposes a spatial intervention strategy for incremental renewal,
aiming to provide a design pathway and methodological paradigm of reference value for the conservation and
regeneration of heritage sites.
