Research Framework and Optimization Strategy for Urban Spatial Resilience Based on Capability-Phase-Scale Analysis
Abstract:The improvement of spatial resilience is crucial for constructing resilient cities. However, due to the lack of effective integration between classical resilience theory and research on urban spatial morphology, existing studies generally suffer from issues such as vague conceptual definitions, insufficient attention to spatiotemporal dimensions, and lack of cross-scale analysis. Consequently, a theoretical framework capable of effectively guiding research and practice in spatial resilience has yet to be established. This paper integrates the Cup and Ball model, the Adaptive Cycle model, and the Panarchy model as its theoretical foundation. By analyzing their applicability and theoretical implications within the context of urban spatial morphology, a three-dimensional research framework for spatial resilience, comprising capabilities, phases, and scales, is constructed. Furthermore, an optimization pathway for spatial resilience is proposed, focusing on capability synergy, phase adaptation, and scale coordination. This framework contributes to enriching and refining the theoretical system of spatial resilience while providing a guiding framework for empirical research and evidence-based practice in this field.
