1 INTRODUCTION: The journal of Urban Design , supervised by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, established by School of Architecture of Tsinghua University and issued by Tsinghua University Press, is the first periodic publication on urban design in China.
2 AIMS: The journal of Urban Design seeks to be grounded on cutting-edge theories, to keep the whole world in the view and to focus on Chinese development. It not only provides an academic platform for exploring hot issues about urban design across the world in a more systematic way, but also offers full support for encouraging theoretical studies as well as professional practices in China.
3 COLUMNS: The journal of Urban Design is composed of the sections of Theory, Method, Review, Design Education, etc.
4 EDITORIAL: The editorial work, supervised by the editor-in-chief, is conducted by both Editorial Board and Editorial Office. The former is composed principally of famous scholars and experts, and the latter made up of younger ones.
5 SUBMISSION: Manuscripts should be written in English suitable for publication. Submissions should include the following separated items: Main text file in MS-Word format (labeled with “title” + author’s surname), not exceeding 10,000 words inclusive of tables /figure captions/endnotes; up to 10 illustration files preferable in JPG format with a resolution of 300 dpi (labeled with consecutive numbers according to the sequence in the text + author’s surname); a short abstract (not exceeding 80 words); 3-5 keywords; references; tables with captions; full names of authors, affiliations, postal addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses and full names of translators if applicable, as well as acknowledgements and funding bodies if necessary; and one illustration of author(s) with a resolution of 300 dpi. For text style and formatting guidelines, please refer to Chicago Manual of Style, 16th Edition (http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org), as well as Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary, 11th Edition (http://www.merriam-webstercollegiate.com).
6 FREQUENCY: The journal of Urban Design will be published once every two months on the 20th and each issue consists of 8 to 12 articles.
7 CONDITIONS: Authors are responsible to adhere to the standards of intellectual integrity, and acknowledge of source of previously published materials. The manuscript should be original work that, in this manner, has not been published previously in English, nor is under consideration or review or accepted for publication or in press elsewhere. The manuscript contains nothing that is abusive, defamatory, libelous, obscene, fraudulent, or illegal. By submitting the manuscript to Urban Design authors are agreeing to any necessary originality checks the manuscript may have to undergo during the peer-review and production processes.
8 ONLINE ACCESS: The journal of Urban Design is committed to promoting and increasing the visibility of the accepted articles, so that the website of the journal is published at the same time(http://urbandesign.tsinghuajournals.com), and meanwhile online accessed by China Academic Journal Network Publishing Database (CAJNPD) and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). If authors disagree with the above online accesses, please write a declaration with signature when submitting article.
