Cultural Narrative Integration and All-Season Sports Scene Curation in Cold-Region Green Spaces: A Case Study of Harbin Sun Island Green Sports Park
Abstract：Addressing the prevalent issue of insufficient winter vitality in urban green spaces within cold-climate cities, this paper draws upon the design practice of Harbin Sun Island Green Sports Park to propose an integrated framework merging cultural landscape with climate-responsive design. The study examines strategic approaches across spatial configuration, experiential scene curation, and sustainable operational mechanisms. Key insights demonstrate how micro-topography and plant communities effectively mitigate wind exposure and regulate microclimates, while hydrological systems and sloped terrain enable seasonal functional adaptability between winter and summer. Furthermore, cultural narrative integration articulates the site’s genius loci, collectively establishing evidence-based strategies transferable to green space development in analogous cold-climate urban contexts.
